Export to tape issue

Hello, I have tried to export to tape (mini DV on NTSC camera) from Premiere Pro 1.5 but while the screen on the computer monitor says "Successful" and on the LCD screen in VTR mode the red dot appers (record status), when I play back the camera I don't see any image on the LCD (nor do I see it while apparently recording).

Suggestions? thanks

I apologize for the delay in responding, and thank you for posting. When Premiere says the export to tape was successful but nothing records, the camera is usually receiving a signal it can't use. Check that the camera is in VCR or VTR mode with DV input enabled, that the sequence settings match the tape format (NTSC DV, 29.97), and that playback is set to send video out through FireWire.

Try recording a short test with the camera's record button pressed manually while Premiere plays the timeline. Today, of course, most projects are delivered as files, but these steps still help anyone working with tape. Our Editing & Post-production forum is a good place to ask more.
