Blurred Edges

Hi all,
I am currently using Premiere Pro 2 and After Effects. (Adobe Production Studio Premium). I have seen on TV many music videos that have blurred edges on the pop videos. I have tried this effect using Premiere and After Effects, but failed miserably. So how do you get the blurred edge effect?

I apologize for the delay in responding, and thank you for posting. The blurred-edge look is usually made with a vignette mask. Duplicate your clip on a layer above, blur the top copy, then draw an elliptical mask, invert it and feather it heavily so only the edges show the blurred layer. In After Effects you can also use a feathered mask on an adjustment layer with Gaussian Blur. Today DaVinci Resolve and Premiere Pro have built-in vignette and lens blur tools that make this quick.
