I've seen these twin 5 to 6 inch tubes sitting on top of a Pana and I understand they are eye lights? have you used one? how are they constructed? What wattage bulbs etc, are involved?

What is the general rule of thumb for when to move a camera & not. I hear about motivated camera moves, and I know that taste is the final judge, but there must be some basic guidelines as when it is most appropiate to be static & when to move. Ideas?

I'm curious about composing shots so that when they are cut together the viewer's eyes stay focused in one area of the screen, vs. racing around to find the next shot, in other words, match cut or semi-match cuts. Example, using rule of 3rds: actor A, CU, eyes near top 1/3 horizontal line...
