I apologize for the delay in responding, and thank you for posting. M&E tracks get overlooked all the time, and they matter the moment a distributor wants to dub your film into another language. The key is keeping dialogue on its own stems through the whole mix, and recording Foley to replace any sound that only exists in the dialogue tracks. Today most distributors also ask for separate dialogue, music and effects stems as part of delivery.
