hi all,

i have my first screenwriting class and production class in the fall. i thought i would get a book to read over the summer to get ahead a little. I was thinking of ordering "Film Directing Shot By Shot: Visualizing from Concept to Screen". had anyone read this and if so what did you think? any other suggestions would be great.

thx!

Film Directing Shot by Shot by Steven Katz is a great choice; it's been a staple in film schools for years and will help in both classes. For screenwriting, also look at Story by Robert McKee or Save the Cat! by Blake Snyder. We also have many excellent articles in our magazine back issues here https://studentfilmmakers.com/digital-magazine-back-issues/
