Directing a Live Concert DVD Production

Hey all,

I'm taking on a new frontier in coordinating and directing the production of the DVD of a live concert and I could use some advice. I've directed live production tapings before with live switching and everything, but I've never done the pre-production aka coordination aspect.

I'm sure there's something I don't know about it that I need to know, so I'm just asking any of you who have experience in this area to let me know of any of the nuances you've learned that a novice might miss. Thanks and God bless.

I apologize for the delay in responding, and thank you for posting. For a concert shoot, get the set list early, plan camera positions with the venue, secure an audio feed from the board, and arrange multitrack recording for the mix. Clear music rights for release, and walk through the stage with the band's crew. I hope the concert DVD went well!
