ACE = American Cinema Editors
ASC = American Society of Cinematographers

These are honorary societies, not unions. In fact, both editors and cinematographers fall under the union called IATSE (International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employess, Motion Picture Technicians, Artists, and Allied Crafts).

Most Chinese films I've seen look exquisite.

"Hero" was the last one I saw. Although the image quality may look too fantastic instead of realistic, I still appreciate them a great deal.

I love good movies. Hero is a great pick, Christopher Doyle's color design changes for each version of the story, and it's a wonderful study in how color carries meaning. Any updates to these lists? What have you watched lately that stood out for its cinematography?
