Has anybody have any experience lighting through a wire studio grid? I hvae seen them in theatres, but not many in studios. They're great for focusing and quick lighting changes, but I don't know how well they work with studio film production. :?:

I apologize for the delay in responding, and thank you for posting. Tension wire grids are great for quick focusing in theaters, and some film and TV studios use them too. Their main advantage is easy access to lights from above without ladders or lifts.

For film, check how much weight the grid can hold and how it handles heavier fixtures and rigging. Today, lightweight LED fixtures make overhead lighting much easier. Have you worked with one? Share your experience in our Lighting & Grip forum.
