Sony Releases αNEX Camera Firmware Update 2.0v for Lens/Adapter

Sony releases a new firmware for their αNEX E-mount cameras. The new firmware provides compatibility with the recently launched LA-EA2 translucent mirror Lens Mount Adapter. The firmware update applies to E-mount models launched prior to Oct 2011. Models getting the firmware update include the αNEX-3, NEX-5, NEX-C3 cameras, the NEX-VG10 Handycam Camcorder and the Sony NEX-FS100U (professional camera line). More details here.

Firmware updates and lens adapters have been a big part of how mirrorless cameras grew into serious filmmaking tools. Always check for the latest firmware before a shoot, and test it first, not on the day.
