I apologize for the delay in responding, and thank you for posting. Film and theater set design share many methods, including flats, platforms and wild walls that can be removed. The difference is the camera: film sets need finer detail for close-ups, walls that pull away for camera and lights, and finishes that look real at high resolution, while theater sets are designed for one viewpoint and a distance. Many designers work in both.
