What attributes must have a loop-ready audio file?

Hi! I perform songs for video production and have doubts about how must I edit my songs so as to be useful for video production, specially when they have to be looped.

A few days ago one of my files was rejected because it has a tempo of 99.9732 bpm instead 100 bpm. How much precise does the tempo must be? Does it really matters?

Do video producers really need the looping properties to be embedded in the file info tags (wave properties)? Like Loop info, Sampler tags...

I apologize for the delay in responding, and thank you for posting. For loops, the tempo should be as exact as possible: a track at 99.9732 bpm will drift out of sync when looped many times or matched with other 100 bpm material, which is why it was rejected.

Set your project tempo exactly, export with the loop length matching a whole number of bars, and check the loop points for clicks. Many libraries also want loop info and tempo embedded in the file (for example ACID or Apple Loops metadata), so check each library's submission guidelines. Our Sound forum is a good place to ask more.
