as for now, I'm working on my application for the BFA program in Screenwriting at USC and I was wondering if anyone here is either working on their application aswell or has already started their program there?
Best wishes back to Iceland! USC's screenwriting program is very competitive, so give your writing sample and personal statement extra care. Are you planning to go to school here in the USA?
I would probably look at NYU too if I had the choice; its Dramatic Writing BFA is worth a look. My tips: apply to several programs, let your writing sample show your own voice, and follow each school's application requirements closely.
Also, if anyone is preparing their application for NYU or any other for that matter.. then it'd be cool to see some sort of a discussion about the process =)
It is basic application. I think you can get it online. You can call the administration office and im sure they can help. I know a couple of the instructors and NYU and I live in New York. If I was on the west coast I would go to AFI.
You're right, AFI is graduate-only. For a BFA, you might want to try Chapman, whose film school offers a screenwriting BFA, or UCLA's undergraduate film and television program, along with NYU and USC.
