Audio Red Camera Problems

I just heard from a known sound pro that Red has had problems with audio and it has been recommended that you use a time code recorder and slate. Anyone in the know about this?

Update, November 2026
Early RED cameras did have audio limitations. The professional standard then and now is to record sound separately on a dedicated recorder with timecode, and use a slate or timecode sync.
