best video output settings for 24p DVX 100b project

8) Hi guys...

I want to know, what IS the absolute best Output settings for a DV Project that is shot shot on the DVX100b, edited with premiere pro 2.0 & Affter Effects 7.0. I need a good quality from AFX to DVD.

I apologize for the delay in responding, and thank you for posting. For a 24p DVX100B project going to DVD, the key is to keep it progressive: encode MPEG-2 at 720x480 widescreen, 23.976 fps, with the pulldown flag added by the encoder, and a bitrate around 6 to 8 Mbps for short programs. Render from After Effects at the highest quality and let the DVD encoder do the compression only once.

Today most films are delivered as H.264 or H.265 files for the web and festivals, which is much simpler. Our Editing & Post-production forum is a good place to compare export settings.
