Hey, I actually set up a trap like that when I was a kid to catch birds in the backyard. My dog actually stalked the birds like a cat until he caught one and tried to eat it. He stopped stalking them after that. Your animations look familiar.

I used to trap rats like this, with cheese. I never tried it on fellow friends though I probably missed so much fun!
