Entering a new decade in 2027, Festival of Cinema NYC will be taking place next summer from August 6 -15 at the legendary Regal UA Midway in Forest Hills, Queens.
Festival of Cinema NYC (not to be confused or affiliated with L.A. Festival of Cinema) seeks feature films from 1st, 2nd and 3rd time filmmakers, as well as short films from filmmakers of all levels, who are looking to gain exposure for their work.
Our organization, founded by independent filmmakers, specifically seeks TRULY INDEPENDENT FILMS that are not backed by major Hollywood studios but instead come from grassroots filmmakers who have poured there blood, sweat, and tears into bringing their vision to the screen. We're looking for those productions that use their imagination, creativity, and resources to the best of their ability to bring amazing work to life!
The festival does not have a particular theme, so films covering all topics and genres across Narratives, Documentaries, Animation, Experimental, Music Videos, and Web/TV Episodics are considered for programming. Writers can also participate by submitting their un-produced Feature, Short or Pilot Script into our script competition. So whether you have a comedy, horror, action, family, drama, sci-fi, thriller, or other genre - WE WANT IT!!
All films submitted are also considered for our Opening Night, Closing Night, and the popular Midnight Madness block.
Attending filmmakers get a Q&A following their screening, while the Top 10 selected un-produced scripts are offered a live public staged reading of their script. All selected work receive VIP passes that allow free entry into all our screenings, events, parties, and our awards dinner.
Festival of Cinema NYC is a celebration of all aspects of independent film that offers the artists, attendees, and community opportunities to connect with industry professionals through our extensive workshops, seminars and panels that take place at the Queens Library of Forest Hills and other venues across the area.
