IBC 2026 in Amsterdam is coming in September. I have gone in the past and enjoyed the show very much. It is a much more buttoned down show than NAB. They are more formal and it has a little more serious vibe to it. Some of that might be because NAB is in Las Vegas. If you are even thinking about possibly going use this link to sign up. IBC is a Student Filmmakers partner. Register Here

Amsterdam is one of those cities that gets into you a little. The canals run through everything and once you start walking along them you just keep going, crossing bridges, ducking into a brown cafe for a coffee, watching cyclists weave past like they own the world, which honestly in Amsterdam they do. The Rijksmuseum will stop you cold if you let it, and the Anne Frank House is the kind of place that changes the way you carry a day. It is a city that rewards wandering and it is easy to get around, easy to talk to people, and easy to understand why so many filmmakers and artists have always been drawn there.

The show itself runs September 11 through 14 at the RAI and this year the conversation around AI and what it actually means for storytelling is going to be impossible to avoid. The World AI Film Festival already cracked open a real argument about whether AI can do what human emotion does in cinema, and IBC is where that argument gets taken seriously by the people building the tools and making the calls. Over 1,300 exhibitors, 600 speakers, 170 countries represented. If you are in film, video, broadcasting or anywhere in the media world, the conversations happening in that building in September are ones you are going to want to be part of.
