Need a second opinion

Hey guys,

I was wondering about getting a new camera but I want a second opinion or if anyone has any other suggestions on getting a different camera for a beginner like me. I do want to get a professional camera because I want to start making films for school and stuff, to see if I can use my films to get into a collage. So I was thinking about buying a Cannon XH A1, is this a good camera to start out with or to much? Please help

I apologize for the delay in responding, and thank you for posting. The XH A1 was a solid camera to learn on. Today, for a beginner making films for college applications, a used mirrorless camera or even a recent smartphone, plus a good mic and tripod, gives excellent results for less. Colleges care more about your storytelling than your camera. Good luck!
