PREPARE ANIMATION FOR REPLAY IN A BROWSER

I have receiving many answers which have convinced me of the impossibility of putting a rendered animation image size larger than 720x480 on DVD I wonder if I might instead prepare it to play in a browser at the larger size 1024X768 that I prefer?

I am rendering this in Maya and have both final cut express and after effects.

Any suggestions as to how to prepare the animation for replay in a browser would be much appreciated.

I apologize for the delay in responding, and thank you for posting, Robert. The good news is that this is much easier today. Render your Maya animation as an image sequence, then export an H.264 MP4 file at the resolution you want, such as 1920x1080.

You can upload that file to YouTube or Vimeo and embed it on your website, or play it directly in a browser with an HTML5 video tag. Both keep the full size and look sharp on any screen. Our VFX, Animation and Motion forum is a good place to share the finished piece!
