I am designing a set for a production of Much Ado About Nothing, and I was wanting some of the buildings to be be Tudor. Does nyone know if there is a website ican go to to find help or information on this?
I apologize for the delay in responding, and thank you for posting. For Tudor buildings, look for half-timbered construction: dark wooden beams over light plaster, steep roofs and leaded windows. Reference books on Elizabethan architecture, photos of places like Stratford-upon-Avon, and theater design books on Shakespeare productions are great sources. Building flats with painted or applied beams over muslin is the classic stage approach.
