i am going to be doing stop-motion for the first time (first time for any kind of animation besides Flash).
Using real people, and a regular SLR camera.
I would appreciate any kind of tips or technical info anyone could give me or refer me to.
I was thinking about shoot at a 12fps rate, and then duplicating the frames on Avid, as I import them.
Also if anyone could tell me what the best format for importing pictures into the Avid (resolution wise, etc.)

Thanks for any help

I apologize for the delay in responding, and thank you for posting. Pixilation, stop-motion with real people, is a lot of fun. Shooting at 12 frames per second and doubling frames (shooting on twos) is a classic approach. Lock off your camera on a solid tripod, use manual exposure and white balance so frames don't flicker, and mark your actors' positions with tape. Norman McLaren's Neighbours is a great film to study.
