I apologize for the delay in responding, and thank you for posting. Stunt coordinators usually start as stunt performers and work their way up over many years. Training in martial arts, gymnastics, driving, falls and fight choreography builds the skills, and working on sets teaches safety and timing.

In the United States, many stunt performers and coordinators are SAG-AFTRA members, and stunt training schools and stunt teams are good places to learn. Safety is the coordinator's most important job, so learning from experienced people is essential.
