Hi all

First of all - sorry if this type of question has been asked before.

I'm currently reading through all the threads as to not repeat questions.

I have just begun making short films - I have been getting away with using a photo digital camera.

I have been looking around at different sites - and have found various models of Canon or Panasonic.

Are either of these brands any good?

You know i think i would try that new SLR Canon 7D or get the Canon 5D. I think the 7D is about 1700.00 for the body. It just came out and was available in stores today in NYC i think. I saw one today at a store on 5th ave and 32nd.

You can also try a Lumix GH-1, a tad bit cheaper than the canon-- and also shoots 24p, 1080.

Haven't had the chance to try it yet.
