For us, filmmakers, it’s a season of changing light, warm tones, long shadows, foggy mornings, and plenty of opportunities to experiment.

What are you shooting this fall? Are you working on a short film, testing a new lens or lighting setup, exploring autumn colour palettes, or planning a Halloween project?

What are you most excited to try this season?

Thank you for posting, Maura. Attention has shifted from forums to scrolling social media, and people are not posting as often as they did years ago. However, I still think there is more value in the authentic communication in our filmmaking forum than in scrolling TikTok or Facebook. It might not be as hyped and adrenaline-pumping, but it is real life and authentic. The value can be foundational. For me, in terms of filmmaking and the general industry of motion picture content creation, I am working on the StudentFilmmakers.com membership section this season and finishing another issue of Student Filmmakers Magazine! I completely agree with you, Kim. There is something special about the authentic conversations and connections we have built through the forum over the years. Social media moves so quickly, but the value of a real community and meaningful communication lasts much longer. Websites like Reddit remain extremely popular to this day and they have a similar format to our forums. I’m really glad to hear you’re working on the StudentFilmmakers.com membership section and another issue of the magazine. I know how much work goes into keeping everything moving, and I’m excited to see what you’re putting together. And I absolutely love the view in your photo. Central Park in the fall looks beautiful, and you captured such a lovely perspective of Manhattan. I want to see more!
