The Yale Film Analysis site has moved since this was posted, so search for Yale Film Analysis to find the current version. It's still a great free introduction to cinematography terms, from framing and lenses to camera movement.

A good way to practice: pick one term, like rack focus or a canted angle, and find three examples in your favorite films. What cinematography technique are you working on right now?
